West Indian Blend Owner, Adeneke Defreitas, is a New York native whose West Indian roots have influenced her culinary creations. She discovered an interest in food while spending time in the kitchen with her mother learning the nuances of cooking West Indian dishes. As a chef, she loves creating elevated versions of dishes that remind her of those experiences cooking with her.
Chef Adeneke received formal culinary education while attending Baltimore Culinary Institute. She began her culinary career as a Sous Chef, and worked her way up to becoming a head Chef. Her culinary journey allowed her to be exposed to a variety of foods from all over the world.
Over the course of the years, Chef Adeneke developed a passion for creating dishes that combined spices and flavors from across the globe. Examples of her eclectic dishes are Barbecue Chicken Sushi, Curry Chicken Lasagna, and Macaroni and Cheese Egg Rolls.
Chef Adeneke created West Indian Blend catering several years ago. Now, she has become sought after caterer for both personal a corporate clients in the Baltimore, MD metro area.
